Celebrate Seaside Animal Care’s 17th Annual Open House Saturday, November 6 from 12 until 3 pm.
This year’s event will be especially geared toward pet health and kids! Dress up (or at least your pet), learn a few things about caring for your pet, meet our staff, tour the hospital and get TONS of free goodies.
“This is the highlight of our year in many ways,” remarks Dr. Ward. “This year we’re really going all out to make it special for children as well as amping our pet health fair.”
This year’s event will have the most activities for children ever. “We’re going all out to make this a great event for children, especially elementary to middle school age.” states Laura Ward. “We’re having every child’s favorite, the ‘Tigger’s Bouncy House’ along with a special craft table, face painting, balloon animals, food, a children’s ‘behind the scenes’ tour, learning stations and, of course, lots of goodies.”
In addition, children can bring any “injured” dolls to Dr. Ward’s Teddy Bear Surgery Clinic. Everything is free and attendees will receive t-shirts, free product samples and may enter raffles for prizes including a backpack, beach loungers, flea preventives, a basket of supplements from Nutramax, Lowe’s Foods gift certificate, free bowling and movie passes, gift certificates from Papa’s Pizza, Chili’s, Boundary House and more. “I can’t thank enough our wonderful sponsors.” says Laura. “Even though it’s been another tough year for everyone, they have provided our guests with some incredible gifts.”
“Open House requires a tremendous amount of work for our team.” comments Dr. Ward. “I’d like to thank everyone for their efforts to make this Open House and Pet Health Fair the best ever. We do this because we love pets and serving our clients; plus, it’s a lot of fun! ”

Dr. Ward’s Lecture – 2:30 to 3:00
“Top Myths about Feeding Your Pet”
Should you feed human foods to your pet? Is canned or dry food better? What treats are good an which are bad? Will garlic kill my pet? Dr. Ward will discuss the top pet feeding myths during this “myth-busting” presentation. He will also be available to sign his new book, “Chow Hounds: Why Our Dogs Are Getting Fatter – A Vet’s Plan to Save Their Lives.”

BRING YOUR PET FOR FREE HEALTH SCREENING – 2:30
Our staff will conduct free body condition scoring and dental staging during Open House. We will also give you free dietary, exercise and weight loss advice and teach you how to keep your pet’s mouth healthy!
